Keynote Address - Dr. Christopher Willard
Dr. Christopher Willard has spoken all over the world on the topic of mindfulness and is the author of Raising Resilience.

The sharp rise in stress and mental health issues regularly top adult concerns about their children and teens. Join bestselling author, psychologist and consultant Dr. Christopher Willard for a talk on managing stress and building resilience through mindfulness for kids, teens and families. Dr. Willard will be sharing practices for  parents to use themselves and take home to their children. We will discuss tailoring techniques to a range of kids issues, including learning differences, medical concerns, and mental health issues, as well as integrating mindfulness into academics,  arts and athletics for attention spans ranging from 30 seconds to 30 minutes.

Now What? Referrals and Strategies to Help Students in Need
Christine Conceison, BHS Social Worker, and Taylor LoConto, BHS School Psychologist will be available on a walk-in basis to answer questions regarding local resources, agencies and supports to help students and families in need. Information and referrals provided will include, but is not limited to, therapeutic agencies, substance abuse programs, psychological evaluations, groups, and in-school services available to BPS students.

Seesaw for Student Digital Portfolios
The session will introduce parents and families to the BPS Digital Portfolios for students in grades K-8. Burlington Public Schools is now using Seesaw as a digital application to create, curate, and share student learning. Parents can also follow their child's progress by joining Seesaw. Parents can view, comment, and like their child's content in the Seesaw portfolio.

Mindful Communication with Children
In this presentation you will be provided with a 10 minute meditation which can help you connect compassionately with your own feelings, needs and response to challenging situations with your child or children so that you can then reconnect with them compassionately.  You will also be provided with some basic tips on how to mindfully communicate with your child/teen so that you can truly hear their needs beyond their strong emotions and then respond by "saying what you actually mean."
